6/4 HOLTON 5 Valve CC $11,000.00

6/4 Holton, 5 valve CC Tuba- 4 Piston, .750-.800 bore, 5th rotor .812 bore. 20” upright bell, Raw brass in very good condition, a few minor dings, no major dents. It has red abilone shell valve caps. It is a superior playing Holton, better intonation than a factory CC holton with only the best of Classic Holton sound.

This is one of 20 tubas originally made by Holton as a copy of Arnold Jacobs legendary York tuba. It has been played in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and many other orchestras. It was converted from BB to CC many years ago. Tuba expert Matt Walters of Dillon’s music rebuilt this tuba by hand, redesigning the 5th valve and repositioned it for greater ease of playing, bigger sound, and less resistance.

This tuba produces a beautiful, rich, full orchestral sound in the low, medium, and high ranges. It comes with an Altieri gig bag.

Meinl-Weston 45S F tuba: Great condition, very minor dings. Modifications: 5th valve slide extended to flat 2-step configuration, main tuning slide extended for intonation, mouthpiece receiver fitted to an American shank mouthpiece. Comes with gig bag and a brand new Marcinkiewicz N4 mouthpiece.

Mirafone 188 CC tuba: Very good condition, minor dents and blemishes. Comes with a Tuxedo gig bag and a new Marcinkiewicz N4 Concert Hall mouthpiece.

This tuba has been one of the favorite of bands, orchestras and individuals for over 50 years. This is like the Pro 186 except the taper on the conical section grows faster and is larger and it gives it a bigger fuller and darker sound, more like a Kaiser tuba.
